About Rosemary Pitjara Petyarre
Born in 1945 and part of the outstanding Utopian artists, Rosemary commenced painting with acrylic on canvas in the 1980s. Many of her family are accomplished artists including her sisters Jeannie Petyarre (Pitjara), Evelyn Pultara, and brother Grenny Purvis Petyarre.
Rosemary is the niece of the internationally acclaimed artist Emily Kngwarreye. Her art has featured in exhibitions in Europe and Australia.
Design inspiration
With her bush medicine leaf paintings, Rosemary has established herself as a skilled artist who shows both a sense of colour and movement in her works as the leaves dry in the wind. Her work is highly sought after because of her ability to capture a sense of movement, depth, and rhythm.
