About Polly Ngale
Polly is from the Anmatyarre tribe and was born in the 1940s, a well sought after Aboriginal Artist and sadly passed away in August 2022.
Often assisting her sister Kathleen as well as the late Emily Kngwarreye Kame with whom she resided in the same country, Polly's artistic career began in silk batiks like that of many women in Utopia before moving onto acrylic paints on canvas.
Polly's art has featured in collections and exhibitions across the world including the USA, Europe, and Australia.
Design Inspiration
Polly, along with her sisters is the senior custodian of the ‘Bush Plum’ (Arnwekety) Dreaming. Polly’s designs captivate the bush plum and its interaction with her country. You will note her style builds up upon a layer of colour displaying a multi-dimensional effect that is absolutely mesmerising.
