About Belinda Golder Kngwarreye
Belinda Golder Kngwarreye was born in the Central Australian town of Utopia in 1986. She is a young Anmatyerre artist that is on the rise. Belinda Pitjara is the daughter of Sammy Pitjara and Margaret Golder, and the sister of well-known artist Janet Golder Kngwarreye. Her grandpa, the late Kudditji Kngwarreye, was a well-known Kudditji Kngwarreye. Belinda is still a resident of Utopia and a budding artist in her own way.
Design inspiration
The Bush Plum is a common style that Belinda draws on in her artworks. Polly Ngale, Belinda's grandmother, is the "Bush Plum Dreaming's" senior custodian. You will note that Belinda uses a smaller stroke than that of her grandmother. Bush Plum is a food source for the Aboriginal people of Utopia, in Central Australia's Eastern desert. In their ceremonies, the ladies pay homage with body paint, songlines, and dance cycles.
